ESTEYCO AND ICYFSA AWARDED THE CONTRACT FOR THE DRAFTING OF THE “NOGALES CONNECTION” PROJECT OF THE PALENCIA-ALAR DEL REY HIGH-SPEED LINE
The joint venture formed by Esteyco S.A. and Icyfsa Ingeniería has been awarded the contract for the drafting of the construction project for the Nogales Connection, a strategic section located in the municipality of Alar del Rey, between the provinces of Palencia and Burgos. This project, promoted by Adif Alta Velocidad, aims to connect the high-speed platform under construction between Calahorra de Boedo and Alar del Rey with the conventional L160 Palencia-Santander line. This action will advance the arrival of high-speed rail to Cantabria while the connection to Reinosa is completed, reducing travel times in the region and significantly improving rail mobility.
The contract, awarded with an amount of €1,125,847.47 (excluding VAT) for its first stage and an execution period of 18 months, includes the creation of a section mostly on a viaduct that will cross the valley and the Pisuerga River. Additionally, it includes the installation of a gauge changer, the elimination of a level crossing, and the rectification of several kilometers of the existing conventional line (L160 Palencia-Santander), among other key technical actions.
Esteyco and Icyfsa, with more than 25 years of joint experience in railway projects, bring their technical knowledge and coordination capacity to lead this challenge. This award reinforces their solid track record, which includes notable works such as the drafting of the construction project for the Calahorra de Boedo-Alar del Rey line, currently under execution and adjacent to this action.
With a clear focus on innovation and sustainability, the project will integrate BIM methodologies and specific measures to minimize environmental impact, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This award underscores the commitment of both companies to the modernization of railway infrastructure and sustainable mobility, consolidating them as leaders in the sector.
