On December 30th, 2024, service was completely restored on the A-6 in the vicinity of Pedrafita do Cebreiro in the section of the Castro Viaducts.
This reopening marks the end of a series of actions in which Esteyco has been continuously collaborating with the Directorate General of Roads since March 2021. It was then that our Asset Management team conducted the first inspections that detected severe pathologies in the original viaducts, leading to emergency works.
The work has been a challenge for all the agents involved, with technical complexity, high-quality standards, and extraordinarily demanding deadlines. The technical and constructive solutions, the management of uncertainties, decision-making, and the necessary coordination between administrations and companies place this action at the forefront of world engineering.
