ESTEYCO, AWARDED THE CONTRACT FOR THE DRAFTING OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS TO IMPROVE FIRE PROTECTION, EVACUATION AND VENTILATION CONDITIONS IN THE EVENT OF FIRE AT THE PIRÁMIDES AND VALDEBEBAS SUBURBAN STATIONS.

Esteyco, in a joint venture with the company Tekia, has been awarded the contract for for “Consulting and Technical Assistance Services for the drafting of construction projects for the improvement of fire protection, evacuation and ventilation conditions in the event of fire at the Pirámides and Valdebebas commuter train stations” from ADIF, for an amount of 821,702.43 euros (VAT excluded) in a Stage 1, which includes the drafting of the necessary Documents, within a total period of 18 months. To this amount is added another of 58,070.67 euros (VAT excluded) in a Stage 2 of support to ADIF during the works, in an estimated period of 12 months. These actions are part of the development of the Madrid Commuter Plan. The works consist of improving the conditions of fire protection, evacuation and ventilation in the event of fire at the Pirámides and Valdebebas stations through which lines C1 and C10 of Cercanías de Madrid run, to guarantee the correct evacuation of people from any point of these stations. To this end, a background analysis will be carried out, a proposal of alternatives for each station, and the drafting of the respective Construction Projects, specifying the alternatives for action in the face of the deficiencies found in the two stations, such as

  • Lack of sectorization.
  • Possibility of needing new emergency exits
  • Existing emergency exits without pressurization or with limited evacuation capacity.
  • Lack of separation between tunnels and stations that favors the spread of smoke.
  • Absence of forced ventilation systems at some points.
