PRESENTATION OF THE 2+1 ROADS PROGRAM OF THE GENERALITAT DE CATALUNYA
The Minister of Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Juli Fernández, and the General Director of Mobility Infrastructures, David Prat, presented last March 15th the “2+1 Roads Program” for the road network of the Generalitat, which is being drafted with the collaboration of ESTEYCO. The program contemplates the transformation, in a first phase between 2023 and 2030, of a total of 418 kms of conventional roads to 2+1 roads, with an expected investment of 664 million euros. These actions aim, by transforming 7% of the road network, to reduce the total fatal accident rate by 20%, overcoming the stagnation in the reduction of the accident rate that has been recorded in recent years.
