VISIT TO BARCELONA TRAMWAY WORKS
This past March 20th, the Minister of territory of the Government of the Generalitat, Juli Fernandez, the mayoress of Barcelona, Ada Colau and ATM Director, Pere Torres, visited the works of the first phase for the connection of Barcelona´s networks (Tranbaix and Transbesós), in which ESTEYCO participates as part of the team of the UTE for the management of the works of the first phase of the Unified Tramway network of Barcelona and redevelopment of the surroundings.
These Works are the first step to make the union of Trambesós and Trambaix a reality, wich will expand public transportations coverage and improve the mobility between nine municipalities in the metropolitan area These Works are the first step to make the union of Trambesós and Trambaix a reality, wich will expand public transportations coverage and improve the mobility between nine municipalities in the metropolitan area
The commitment to this means of transportation offer the possibility to traveling in a sustainable, efficient, fast, comfortable, and safe way also allowing to enjoy the scenery during the trip, avoids noise, pollution and traffic jams, which makes it one of the most valued means of transportation by the citizens.
As part of the actions for the implementation of this first phase, also include the redevelopment of Avenida Diagonal from Glories square to Pg. San Joan, which will reorder the uses of the avenue, increasing green spaces, and encouraging the use of bicycles by increasing and improving the network of bicycle lanes and gibing more space to pedestrian zones.
