ESTEYCO TO PARTICIPATE IN GREEN H2 PROJECT

ESTEYCO will participate in the PLOCAN-coordinated project H2HEAT funded by the European Commission under its Horizon Europe program.

This innovative project aims to demonstrate the full value chain for green hydrogen (H2) production and its use in commercial building heating supply.
For this, a 1MW electrolyser will produce green H2 using wind energy using offshore wind renewable energy produced by the ELICAN prototype, a real-scale bottom-fixed prototype by ESTEYCO installed in the PLOCAN test site thanks to the funds of the European Commission under the H2020 program. Then, the green H2 will be delivered to the Canary Health Service for heating a local hospital complex. Luego, el hidrógeno verde será transportado hasta el hospital de Gran Canaria donde se transformará en calor.

The project which includes other partners as Stargate, NeoDyne, 2G Solutions, ICoRSA, Cluster Maritime Canaria (CMC), Canary Islands Health Service, Government of the Canary Islands (GOBCAN), Scientific Park Lviv Polytechnic National University, and European Marine Energy Centre Ltd (EMEC) will start in September 2023 with a budget of 13M€ for 5 years.
