Esteyco has been awarded by Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS) for the drafting of the Construction Project for the Riberas de Loiola Interchange in Donostia, with a value of €820,050.00 (excluding VAT) and a timeframe of 24 months. The project aims to create a rail interchange infrastructure that allows efficient connections between the ETS and ADIF lines, thus improving mobility and public transport in the city.

The interchange will be located at the intersection of the ETS (line E-2, Lasarte-Hendaye) and ADIF (line C-1, Irún-Brínkola) railway lines, in a critical area in the southeast of Donostia, where there is currently no interchange infrastructure, in addition to the distance from the nearest stations (Anoeta and Loiola station on the ETS line and Loiola stop on the ADIF line).

Among the most outstanding actions are the displacement of the ETS tracks to the east and that of the Paseo de Zorroaga to the west to make room for the main lobby building of the interchange, as well as the partial coverage of the ADIF tracks, which will allow the construction of the platforms and their connection with Avenida de Barcelona by means of a lobby. In addition, the project includes detailed planning in the urban reorganization, with the expansion of the Park of Memory on the covering of the roads.

This new infrastructure will facilitate interchange and improve railway functionality, allowing a smooth transfer between the Donostialdea metro and ADIF’s suburban services, in an area of Donostia in development and expansion such as Riberas de Loiola.
