The presentation event to present stimulus actions for the Blue Economy based on R&D will take place on Friday, April 30th in PLOCAN, Gran Canaria.

The main objective of this event is to present the actions performed by CECE in order to diversify the Canary Islands through the Blue Economy based on knowledge and sustainability. It will be hosted by the Minister of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ms. Elena Mañez Rodríguez, the Director of ACIISI, Mr. Carlos Navarro and the Director of PLOCAN, Mr. Joaquín Hernández Brito.

Esteyco’s CEO, Mr. Carlos García Acón, will be one of the event’s speakers to explain Esteyco’s experience in installing a project in PLOCAN’s testing area with socio-economic impact in the island.

In this sense, Esteyco will present, among others, its ELICAN project, the first and only real-scale offshore wind turbine installed in Spain, successfully installed in PLOCAN in 2018 (funded by the European Commission’s H2020 program) and the ATOMS project, a pioneer system suitable to perform O&M actions, more specifically Large Corrective Actions, in offshore wind turbines without the need for jack-ups, thus reducing costs significantly (funded by European Commission’s Blue Invest program, European Maritime and Fisheries Fund).
