The Oil & Gas Congress took place at the Bilbao Exhibition Center last October 8^th and 9^th. This is an event of great interest to the sector, in which the Head of the Structures and Foundations Department of Esteyco, Mr. Miguel Bañares, , shared a presentation on 5^th LNG tank at Brujas, a singular project in which Esteyco is working since. It includes from the tender phase to the detail project and works technical assistance phase during the construction. The most relevant aspects of the project are:

• Geometrical and structural design of a cylindrical diaphragm wall with an inside diameter of 102 meters and an excavation depth of 24 meters. The thickness of the diaphragm wall is of 1.2 meters, with no anchors in the extrados and the water table is 2.5 meters of the surface. Furthermore, it exists an aquifer located under the half-buried embedding stratum, which shapes the whole design.
• Structural design of the half-buried external tank of 180,000 m³ capacity, made of stressed concrete.

Additionally, Esteyco has design several industrial buildings, pipelines rack, foundations of mechanical equipment and retention ponds in the extension of Fluxys’  Zeebrugge plant,; all of them included within the framework of the E.P.C.C. contract in the civil engineering project developed by Balzola.
