ESTEYCO LEADS PROMEM, A DISRUPTIVE PROJECT TO TRANSFORM OFFSHORE MAINTENANCE WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE NAVAL PERTE
PROMEM addresses one of the greatest challenges in offshore wind: the high cost and lack of solutions for major corrective maintenance operations, particularly in floating wind farms. The project aims to develop and validate new naval processes and infrastructures that enable these operations to be carried out directly at the turbine site, thanks to the innovative ATOMS attachable technology.
This breakthrough eliminates the reliance on costly “Jack-up” vessels, significantly reducing maintenance expenses and ultimately lowering the cost of offshore wind energy. At the same time, it drives the diversification of the naval sector, equipping shipyards with the capabilities needed to tackle the technological challenges of the energy transition.
Led by ESTEYCO in collaboration with LIFTRA, an internationally recognized specialist in lifting and transport solutions for wind turbines, the project starts on June 1, 2023, with a total budget of €2,170,138. PROMEM is funded under the Naval PERTE, with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. ![]()
