PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES
We have always aimed to be at the forefront of innovation and competitiveness in the infrastructure and energy sectors. From this privileged position, we have come to understand the market’s needs and respond with specific solutions, in some cases ones that have been patented, in order to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints. For every challenge we must be able to practise what we preach, and the truth is that we have found many of the answers in concrete and industrialisation.
About Esteyco
Infrastructures
Esteyco owes its existence to structures. Javier Rui-Wamba’s know-how and relevance in structural design and calculation was the firm’s first identifying feature. But by the 1980s we had soon evolved into a multidisciplinary team, where different approaches enabled us to undertake projects from a much broader viewpoint: land engineering, route planning, environmental considerations, architecture, networks, energy, sustainability … all these disciplines have been added to our skills and services in a natural way as we have gradually adapted to the times and society’s needs. Infrastructure, at the root of whatever is built, shapes territorial growth and has been — and will continue to be — as source of knowledge at Esteyco and what sets our services apart.
ARCHITECTURE
Over the years, Esteyco has built on a way of approaching jobs that we might call multidisciplinary collaboration, developing ideas from many different professional viewpoints, based on a wide range of experiences and with the knowledge base of each professional, all coming together to complete robust, long-lasting projects. This strong multidisciplinary approach, creating architecture from engineering and applying engineering to architecture, is very much what the trust built up with the architecture studios we have worked closely with over the years is based on. Major city, urban-development and architecture projects have been developed at Esteyco over the last thirty years, since the dawn of the Barcelona Olympic Games. At the time we didn’t realise just how much Barcelona’s urban planning and way of doing things would affect our work. A whole host of projects, tenders, works and partnerships have enriched our stock and that of everyone around us, enabling us to offer better projects with every new job we undertake, not only in Barcelona but also in Madrid, Bilbao, Colombia and other locations.

MECHANICS
Esteyco Mechanics works in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems and structures. Most engineering processes are tackled very efficiently by experienced engineers who routinely apply methodologies, design rules and practices developed over the years by the engineering community, and which are widely accepted by the industry. This workflow allows engineers to come up with safe and reasonably optimized designs very fast, resulting in a highly productive way of doing things. Yet, there are cases in which what is to be designed or the answer to the question that must be addressed is a bit beyond reach for these very efficient everyday practices. Esteyco Mechanics activity focuses on these cases that require an in-depth knowledge of more general principles in structural mechanics. We are a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified engineers, experts in structural & mechanical design and analysis, who work in non-conventional engineering problems in the general field of structural mechanics. Our activity is normally linked to new developments that demand a deeper understanding of the key factors driving their performance in order to find feasible solutions.
ENERGY
Thanks to our having had the foresight back in 1996 to identify the growing interest in the renewables sector, particularly wind energy, we are now a benchmark in this sector, with operations that are growing in more than thirty countries. Implementing our products has enabled us to boost our work performance. Our strategy and positioning also enable us to provide engineering and consultancy services during all stages of a renewables project. All this experience is also bringing us increasingly to the fore in solar development and hybrid projects, which are essential under the new models that are necessary for the energy transition that society craves.
OFFSHORE
The future lies in the sea. In our Foundation’s book Esteyco, the first 50 years we already dedicated a specific chapter to the sea and all its potential. Three quarters of the Earth is covered by water. The potential for growth and sustainable development in the oceans is immense and can be realised with an unequivocal commitment to decarbonisation by 2050. Esteyco could not be more identified with this approach. We have been working since 1996 as a benchmark in the wind power industry and since 2010 in offshore wind power, which has provided us with extensive knowledge and experience in designs, in the application of regulations and guidelines and in the use of simulation tools. All this through an experienced multidisciplinary team with more than a decade of offshore wind power experience and who have worked on a multitude of sites, turbines and markets. We can offer engineering services and disruptive technologies covering the full project cycle and ensuring integrated services that minimise CAPEX and OPEX, maximising energy production.
