Esteyco was one of the few companies selected to participate in the South Korea mission organized by the EU Gateway, an initiative funded by the European Union, from 2nd to 7th February in Seoul, Korea.

The South Korean government has planned a large-scale transition toward improved energy efficiency as well as safe and clean energy sources. Its announced goal is to supply a 20% share of renewable energy in the national energy mix, including 37 GW of photovoltaic power, 3 GW of onshore wind power, and 13 GW of offshore wind power by 2030. This makes South Korea a very attractive market in which our innovative offshore solutions -ELISA technology for bottom-fixed and TELWIND for floating wind energy- (both projects have been funded by the EU’s H2020 program) may carve a niche.

In our attempt to bring our offshore wind solutions to such promising markets as the Asian countries, this event has given us the opportunity to establish first contacts with benchmark wind energy companies in the country. We are confident that this will pave the way to stronger and long-lasting relationships with the country.
