ESTEYCO, WINNER OF THE MISIONES PROGRAM BY CDTI

The LEAF project (Liderazgo Español para al Avance de la eólica Flotante, Spanish Leadership for the Progress of Floating Wind Energy), led by Esteyco, has been funded by the Spanish Centre for Industrial Technological Development, CDTI, within the framework of the MISIONES program totalling 2,713,182€. This program is cofounded by the European Union through the FEDER Funds.
The Consortium is composed by the most important Spanish floating platform designers today including ESTEYCO, SAITEC, ENEROCEAN, X1-WIND, NAUTILUS and COREMARINE. Furthermore, Esteyco will rely on the valuable collaboration of CENER and PLOCAN.
The main objective of the project is to gather the Consortium’s knowledge in order to reduce costs of electric generation by proposing innovative solutions to the different problems existing today in the floating wind energy, mainly in deep waters. Its final objective is to reduce wind energy costs and make it affordable to society in general.
LEAF is a clear example of cooperation and common contribution to the improvement of floating wind energy in Spain and of creating synergies so that floating platform designing companies in Spain can develop their technologies and, at the same time, achieve a worldwide presence.
