The project envisions a multi‑purpose space designed for sports, recreational, and cultural uses, capable of hosting activities of various scales, including major events. Key planned interventions include the definitive relocation of the Poblenou–Agapito Fernández municipal football field, the creation of a new marine center for nautical sports, and large open areas for public activities. A new seafront promenade (paseo marítimo) will be developed along the outer edge of the platform.

A strategic project for Barcelona’s seafront

The project also resolves the urban connection between the rambla de Prim, the seafront promenade, and the coastal corridor linking Barcelona’s beaches with the mouth of the Besòs and the municipality of Sant Adrià, helping to ensure continuity along the seafront. The intervention incorporates climate‑resilience measures and proposes a flexible layout that allows different uses to coexist throughout the year.

The works will be carried out over the coming years, with an estimated investment of 10 million euros per year. With this commission, ESTEYCO and EMF take on the drafting of a strategic project that will transform one of the most distinctive areas of Barcelona’s coastline, strengthening its urban integration and its function as a new public space for citizens.
