Client: Euskal Trenbide Sarea (construction project). Bilbao Port Authority (project management)
The goods stop on the Arasur platform is a business initiative of the Bilbao Port Authority, designed as a logistics hub for the Arasur area prior to sending to the Port of Bilbao using shuttle trains at fixed times and with pre-set compositions. Located in Rivabellosa (near Miranda de Ebro), the stop and adjacent storage area is designed as a logistics platform for the exchange and connection of goods traffic by road and rail between the Port of Bilbao and the area around Miranda de Ebro which comprises the provinces of Álava, La Rioja, Navarre, Aragón and Burgos.
Esteyco developed the draft project, operating plan and construction project for the goods stop for Euskal Trenbide Sarea, consisting of:
• Two loading and unloading tracks at least 450 m long, measured from picket to buffer, with a loading bay or parking area for loading and unloading.
• A set of tracks for receiving and dispatching trains, consisting of two tracks with a functional track length of 450 m, measured from picket to buffer.
• Tracks connecting the Madrid – Hendaye main line with the goods stop.
