TELWIND OFFSHORE INSTALLATION TANK TESTS COMPLETED
ESTEYCO has successfully concluded the tank test campaign conducted in CEDEX facilities in Madrid (Spain), with positive results.
The installations methodology is one of the key factors to bring costs down, since the installation is based on the ESTEYCO´s proprietary telescopic tower and thus, expensive crane vessels are not needed.
After an extensive testing campaign, the installation methodology has been validated, and at this stage, we can confirm that ESTEYCO´s floating platform can be safely deployed at sea in a large variety of environmental conditions.
The tank test campaign was comprised by two main phases. On one hand, all the installation stages were stationary tested and on the other, the continuous ballasting operation of the lower structure
“All the data gathered from these tests have been contrasted with both developed numerical models, Bladed and AQWA. TELWIND platform is comprised by two structures joined by means of tendons. Checking the dynamic behaviour of these elements was a very important aspect within this tank test campaign.
“During the installation operation tests, it was a key factor to monitor loads on the tendons and also to observe the dynamic response during the whole process.
