{"id":17554,"date":"2026-09-15T11:20:07","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T09:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteyco.com\/?p=17554"},"modified":"2026-09-17T10:05:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T08:05:12","slug":"tower-assembly-saudi-arabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteyco.com\/en\/energy\/wind\/tower-assembly-saudi-arabia\/","title":{"rendered":"First concrete wind tower assembly completed in Saudi Arabia at Shaqra Wind Farm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month it has been successfully assembled the <strong>first concrete wind turbine tower in Saudi Arabia<\/strong>, at the <strong>Shaqra wind farm (PIF5)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The tower, designed by ESTEYCO for Goldwind\u2019s <strong>GWH204-10.5 MW<\/strong> wind turbine, reaches a <strong>hub height of 148 metres,<\/strong> and consists of <strong>30 precast concrete rings and a short steel top adapter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Its successful assembly represents an important milestone in the deployment of high-rise concrete towers for the next generation of high-power wind turbines in the world.<\/p>\n<p>ESTEYCO has been responsible for the <strong>complete design of the tower<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Tianshan, <\/strong>together with providing technical support throughout its execution. The design has been <strong>certified by DNV<\/strong>, providing independent third-party verification of the structural solution.<\/p>\n<p>The PIF5 programme includes two major onshore wind projects in Saudi Arabia: the <strong>2 GW Starah Wind Project<\/strong> and the <strong>1 GW Shaqra Wind Project<\/strong>, both located in the central region of the country.
