CLIENT: BALZOLA (FLUXYS)
This liquid natural gas tank (LNG) of 180.00 m3 required the designof a circular enclosure of diaphragm walls with an internal diameter of 102.1 m, designed to semi bury the tank to comply with the maximum height limit set at this location.
The works will be carried out in two overlapping phases over 18 months. In phase 1, the tank’s civil engineering project will be undertaken – diaphragm (screens), pipeline sleepers, roads and foundations for sub-stations and auxiliary buildings, including justified calculations and construction detail drawings. The on-site technical assistance will be undertaken in phase 2.
The project also required the approval of the client (Fluxys) and its support engineering (Fluor) with that of the independent consultant (Seco).
Esteyco has developed the civil engineering services within the Engineering – Procurement – Construction – Commissioning (EPCC) contract for the fifth liquid natural gas tank in Zeebrugge (Belgium) for Fluxys.
