We have developed coupled simulations and load analysis capabilities. The following are some of the activities and services Esteyco can currently offer: analysis and design of multibody hydrodynamic simulations with advanced modelling of fender systems, interconnecting lines and interface load analysis, WTG, aero and hydrodynamic coupling performed with FAST or ORCAFLEX, hydrodynamic and structural coupling performed by proprietary tools that allow to transfer the hydrodynamic part (solved with AQWA, ORCAFLEX or NEMOH) to ABAQUS, and to couple ABAQUS with OpenFAST, knowledge of the Bladed software environment (DNV-GL), and of hydro-aeronautical interaction, strong relationships with other specialists such as NREL, CENER, MECAL, ALTRAN and the University of Stuttgart and extensive experience in the treatment of turbine loads and the turbine-substructure interface.
Esteyco actively participated in the joint industry project that led to the DNV recommended practice for the coupled analysis of floating wind turbines (DNVGL-RP-0286). Last but not least, it is important to note that we are able to properly manage inputs and interfaces with OEMs.
