ESTEYCO’S FOUNDATION USING PREFABRICATED JAVELINS HELPS ACHIEVE THE MOST COMPETITIVE LCOE IN THE WORLD FOR SAUDI WIND PROJECTS
The foundation solution using prefabricated javelins, a patented product owned by ESTEYCO, has been selected as the foundation technology for the wind turbines of the Al-Ghat (616MW) and Waad al Shamal (516MW) wind farms, both located in Saudi Arabia.
Both projects are part of Round 4 of the acquisition of renewable energies in the Saudi kingdom, promoted by The Saudi Procurement Company and were awarded to a consortium led by the Japanese company Marubeni, with whom ESTEYCO worked throughout the process in the search for an optimal and specific solution for the location of the parks.
In both cases, the technology created and patented by ESTEYCO played a significant role in the success of the projects, resulting in the world record for renewable energy installations in the case of Al-Ghat, with a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE) of 15.6$/MWh. In the case of Waad al Shamal, this same figure was also extraordinarily competitive, standing at 17$/MWh. The reduction in tower height by 8 meters, thanks to the elevation provided by the foundation, greatly contributed to achieving these record values.
