THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT GIVES THE GREEN LIGHT FOR THE KINCARDINE MARINE WIND FARM
Kincardine Wind Farm construction, located in front of the Aberdeen coastline, has been approved by the Scottish government. Eight wind turbines are going to be installed with the floating system developed by Kincardine Offshore Windfarm Limited, where Esteyco participates as a designer and will generate enough energy to power nearly 56,000 homes and avoid more than 94,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The world’s “largest offshore wind turbine” is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2018.
It is estimated that this € 285 million marine wind farm project will create about 110 jobs during the assembly, installation and maintenance activities which is to be located about 15 km southeast of the city.
