JAM SESSION CONCERT “MÚSICA DE UN PUENTE”

The past 24th October 2017 at 7:30pm, the Esteyco Foundation organized the Jam Session Concert “Música de un Puente” at the Civil Engineering School of Catalonia (16, Dels Vergós street, 08017 – Barcelona).
The event was chaired by the President of the School, Oriol Altisench, and it was hosted by the President of the Esteyco Foundation, Javier Rui-Wamba Martija. Music performers were: Octavi Bañuls, Ricard Gili, Toni Gili, Carles Gili, Jordi Casanovas and Pep Rius, members and collaborators of La Locomotora Negra band. To end the event, an audiovisual installation by artist Lucas Forlenza was displayed.

In the words of Octavi Bañuls, “This concert is intended to show analogies between music and engineering of the human knowledge. Through a selection of Classic Jazz standards, we will move from world to another trying to exemplify common elements between them. We will see the importance of Jazz in the construction of USA railway system as well as the analogies existing between the concept of Jazz rhythm and that of the train.”
